To Students: Select Your Campus of Choice
about the program

The Foothill-De Anza (FHDA) Community College District has been awarded a $1.5 million
grant to launch the innovative Humanities Scholars Work Experience. This visionary
program aims to redefine the connection between humanities education and the workplace
by providing students with transformative internship opportunities, bridging the gap
between academic studies and real-world applications.
In the upcoming four years, the Humanities Scholars Work Experience will provide paid
internships to 250 students at non-profit organizations throughout Santa Clara County
and beyond. These internships, paid at $20 per hour, will allow students to apply
their critical thinking and problem-solving skills cultivated in humanities courses
and experience the satisfaction of working in a mission driven context with co-workers
who share a passion for equity, social justice and the well-being of community. This
hands-on work experience will afford students insight into humanities-based careers
opportunities for socially-just leaders in community engaged settings help students
gain an edge in transferring to four-year colleges.
